New Administrators Pre-Conference Workshop
This course is designed for new administrators for radiation oncology with less than 18 months ‎experience.  The course will provide an overview of radiation oncology administration and what you ‎need to know in the first few days, weeks, months on the job, an overview of required knowledge in ‎Human Resources, Administration and Finance, and an overview of the Revenue Cycle.  An appendix ‎with related resources, terminology and samples will be included for each of these sections to provide ‎an all-inclusive guide to your first 12-18 months in your position.

Theranostics: a roadmap for the future

Theranostics, a portmenteau of therapy and diagnostics, involves the use of radiopharmaceuticals to both diagnosis and selectively treat various cancers.  The clinical use of theranostics has increased in recent years, with the FDA approval of new radionuclide therapies.  This talk will focus on the joint effort between Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Oncology at University of Iowa Health Care to provide seamless, integrated care from the start of imaging through post-treatment management of patients receiving radiopharmaceutical therapies.
